Project: Meadow Brown
Budget: 20k

The Meadow Brown project was undertaken for Rich and Grace, who approached Olive Tree Landscaping with the aim of transforming their lacklustre newbuild garden into a vibrant, pet-friendly oasis. Their primary objectives were to create a drought-tolerant and safe environment for their pets to enjoy.

Olive Tree Landscaping designed, built, and now maintains the garden. A path of mint ivory sandstone paving leads to a spacious entertaining patio, which is shaded by a custom-designed three-post pergola. Opposite the patio, a lush, green lawn provides the perfect space for their dogs to play and roll around. Winding paths made from Cotswold buff chippings and self-binding grit weave through lush planting borders filled with drought-tolerant and pet-safe plants, including lavender, rosemary, thyme, verbena, salvias, and ornamental grasses.

A new Venetian fence replaced the original failing feather edge fence, enhancing both privacy and aesthetics. Additionally, a thoughtfully designed lighting package illuminates the garden with a warm, inviting glow in the evenings. The star of the show is a majestic 70-year-old Lechin olive tree from Andalusia, Spain, planted at the intersection of the main paths, serving as the garden's focal point.

The Meadow Brown project successfully transformed a lacklustre newbuild garden into a lush, functional, and beautiful space that Rich, Grace, and their pets can enjoy year-round. The integration of sustainable and pet-friendly elements has ensured that the garden not only looks stunning but also aligns perfectly with the family's lifestyle.
